Somerset Marquee Wedding

I’ve been so excited to share this beautiful Somerset marquee wedding with you for months and after the busiest summer ever I final have the time to sit and reflect on this beautiful wedding. Holly and Freddie were married back in July at a beautiful country church in Pitminster, Somerset, followed by a Marquee reception in the grounds of the family home. Holly chose a beautiful, timeless and elegant colour palette of ivory and white with hints of blush pink, which suited this summer wedding perfectly. A huge thank to Holly and Freddie for being so lovely and welcoming, I can’t begin to tell you how much we appreciate a small gesture of a coffee when setting up a wedding.

The flowers

Holly opted for a romantic and timeless look for her flowers and I was in my element and filled the wedding with blousy garden roses, spray roses, sweet peas, astilbe, veronica and a firm favourite peonies.

Holly and Freddie filled every aspect of their wedding with large striking designs. At the church we decorated the entrance with a large floral arch to welcome the guests and frame the couple. These are one of my favourite installations and are always a real talking point, not only with the guests but also with passers by who stop to admire the work. The decoration inside the church was kept simple with 2 stunning urns of flowers and posies of flowers tied to the pew ends.

The Marquee

After the ceremony everybody returned to the marquee provided by Abbas Marquees. I love nothing more than a marquee reception and the design possibilities it creates. Holly and Freddie really wanted to make a statement to welcome their guests. So I created a large arch at the entrance of the marquee, using foliage foraged from the woodland on site and an abundance of roses, peonies and delphiniums. A real feature piece of the wedding.

Inside the marquee we created a hanging plank installation above the top table to add some height and interest to the marquee and to frame the oval top table. The tables were dressed with low footed bowls filled with blousy flowers to finish the look and to draw the eye down and add interest to the marquee.

It was an absolute pleasure designing and creating the florals for this beautiful Somerset Marquee Wedding. I wish them both all the very best for the next chapter in their lives and for trusting me to created all your wedding florals.

“I just wanted to say thank you so much for doing such an amazing job on our beautiful wedding flowers. I couldn’t have been happier with both the church and the marquee. The arches were just amazing too! Thank you again for everything. Holly and Freddie”
