Cotswold Wedding Venue – The Kingscote Barn – Inspiration

The Kingscote Barn is one of my favourite Cotswold Wedding Venues, set in the rolling hills of the Cotswolds, it’s an idyllic location for a celebration.

We’re very privileged to be recommended by The Kingscote Barn and have had the opportunity to design and create so many beautiful weddings here. A question we’re asked a lot by couples is what are the different options for decorating this venue with flowers? The answer is endless!

Below you’ll find inspiration for the areas of the barn that you may want to consider when deciding on your wedding florals.

The Reception Room

On arriving at The Barn, this will be the first glimpse your guests will have of your wedding. Many couples find it hard to decided how to decorate this room. Remember that this is usually where your guestbook / card / gift table will be.

You may want display a welcome sign and / or an order of the day. These always look pretty with a few flowers just to finish it off. If you have opted to use the new drinks cart, then a display of flowers and foliage is a real taking point for guests.

Alternatively, garlands of foliage and fairly lights look beautiful decorating the beams.

The Bar

Often a very busy space within the barn for obvious reasons. All guests like a drink! This room needs very little floral decoration, perhaps some flowers on your seating plan.

The Linhay

Kingscote Barn has the most amazing space for an outdoor ceremony. With the beautiful Linhay structure surrounded by lush green Cotswold Country side. You can always hear the sheep singing in the background.

Over the years we have dressed this structure in a number of different ways, garlands, hearts and simple churns of flowers placed in front of it. One thing we always do, is to ensure if the weather takes a turn for the worse we are able to use those flowers else where. Because what is the point in spending money decorating a structure that no one is going to see.

The Barn

The main barn is where you’ll spend the majority of your day, therefore it is important to decorate this wisely. The gallery is a perfect location for a floral installation. If you’re ceremony is inside than this will create the perfect frame for you during the ceremony. We have created many designs to decorate this and are definitely seeing a trend for more foliage heavy installations. Foliage has the most incredible smell especially if eucalyptus has been used.

There are lots of little alcoves and windows within the barn, these look beautiful with candles and or small vases of flowers.

The cake is also normally located in the alcove of the barn, large arrangements of flowers in the corner can really frame this. It could be that flower displays from the ceremony could be used here.

The Wedding Breakfast

There are so many different designs that can be used for table displays. It really is up to personal choice. The one thing we don’t recommend is jam jars on the table. As pretty as these look on a pintrest board, they do get lost in the room. If you had your heart set on a jam jar why not go for a kilner jar of flowers instead?

If your having a traditional top table for your wedding breakfast theres lots of different designs for this. You’ll need to keep whatever you choose low so you can see your guests.

A lot of couples are unsure of how much to budget for their wedding flowers. We have put together a very helpful brochure outlining our services and guide costs. We really look forward to finding out more about your wedding and how we can work with you to make your vision a reality.
